Transportation Intern Program (TIP)
INTERN APPLICATION
The Transportation Intern Program (TIP) will place students from transportation related degree programs in a paid summer internship with local government agencies responsible for the construction, maintenance, design and planning of transportation systems in the state of Oklahoma. These agencies potentially will include the public works and transportation departments of city, county, and tribal governments, Circuit Engineering Districts, and the Councils on Governments. Student interns will assist these agencies with various transportation related projects, tasks and activities.
Preferably, interns will be upperclassmen or graduate level students, have taken relevant course work and have relevant prior work experience. Students will begin their intern positions after the conclusion of the Spring 2012 semester and will work until their Fall 2012 semester begins. Bi-weekly activity reports will be required as will a presentation describing their activities given at the conclusion of the intern period. Interns may be asked to participate in the Oklahoma Department of Transportation Research Day in October of 2012.
The Transportation Intern Program is administered by the Center for Local Government Technology at Oklahoma State University.
Eligible students are those attending the Oklahoma Transportation Center member institutions – the University of Oklahoma, Langston University and Oklahoma State University.
